Accounting and Management Technology

Accounting and Management technology

Introduction

Hello, my name is Ruth Patrice Mesac Philogene. I am studying Accounting and Management Technology in College Ahuntsic. I am in my third semester. My program requires 45 courses to complete it, so you can have your diploma. It teaches you how to manage money, a company, how to start a business. It's all about accounting and management (about taxes, salary, budget, finance).
As an accountant or a manager, you will always have to send emails to your clients or to your suppliers. So, you must be professional in your emails. Which means, you’ll have to choose the right words with the right spelling.

Many managers and accountants have difficulties with spelling, and this costs them a lot because when you send an email with many errors, you have a lot of chances to lose your clients or suppliers because of that, they’ll think, you’re not professional.

For those who don't want to become the kind of managers or accountants who are sending emails full of errors, don’t worry about this problem because I have the solution for you. It will help you avoid errors that can cost you, your credibility.

My goal is to share the solution that will help you avoid errors in your emails in this screencast.

It won't last long, just stay right here for less than 4 minutes and pay attention to what I'm going to show you because it will help you for your future.

The Problem

Let me explain the problem.Imagine that you are at your office, and you need to send an email to an important client to tell him, you need to postpone your appointment with him because of a family affair.

If you write an email full of errors, you could lose the client because you will make a bad impression. Moreover, you are postponing a meeting you had with him, so you have to be a professional.

For example, suppose you need to give some explanations about your family affair and to propose him another date for your appointment.

That can be stressful and difficult, but don't worry. As I told it before, I have the solution, I'll show you how you can resolve your problem.

The Quest

To solve the problem, I am going to show you a website called the Virtual Writing Tutor that can help you avoid errors. First, open your web browser. Then, type this URL VirtualWritingTutor.com in the address bar and press enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you suppose to see this logo in the top left-hand corner of the screen and the navigation menu right under it.

In the top right-hand corner, there are some icons that represent all the different sharing possibilities. Beside the Login button, you have the setting’s menu. In the middle of the screen, it’s the text area. Here, we have some instructions. In the bottom right-hand corner of the text area, we have some icons. Here this is the ABC check mark, it is a spell checker. Whenever it detects errors, you just need to scroll at the bottom of the page, and you will find some explanations about your errors. You can use the microphone to talk or to pronounce a word that you don’t know. Once you have finished your text, you can click on the speech button so that it can read your text. This is the sound icon that can help you download your text in MP3 format as text-to-speech. Finally, there are buttons just above the text area that you can use to correct your text (Word Count, Check Grammar, Score Essay, etc.).

The Solution

Now, you know where you can go If you don't want to do any errors. Let's make an example; I already wrote a text, I am going to paste it and then, we will experience together the website.
